Parental Controls utilized on Android devices may cause VMware Workspace ONE apps to not be visible in Google Play Store

As of September 1, 2019, VMware Workspace ONE applications in the Google Play store will no longer be available for download to Android devices that have parental controls configured to restrict applications intended for 18+ audiences. All VMware productivity applications and anchor applications are affected.

Customer Impact

Any Android devices with a Google account that has parental controls enabled and have restricted access to apps with a target audience of 18+, will no longer see Workspace ONE applications in the Google Play store.

Devices with parental controls enabled that already have Workspace ONE apps installed will no longer receive updates to newer versions of the applications as they are made available.

End-users wishing to install, upgrade and use Workspace ONE apps may disable parental controls. VMware is currently reviewing options for making applications available when parental controls are enabled and will send a communication update when this is complete.
