Announcing End of General Support for the 'Allow Wi-Fi Connection' SSID restriction in the Workspace ONE SDK

The Workspace ONE SDK will no longer offer support for the ability to restrict network access based on SSID. Specifically the setting in the SDK profile under the Network Access Control payload will no longer be supported. This change will be reflected starting in the September 2019 releases of the Workspace ONE SDK for iOS and at a future date (to be announced) for Android.

Customer Impact

  • Upon taking the new Workspace ONE SDK versions, these SDK enabled apps will no check the SSID the device is connected and associated APIs and callbacks in the SDK interface will be removed.
  • Older versions of the Workspace ONE SDK for iOS will no longer be able to support SSID restrictions on iOS 13 and above.
  • This restriction will remain available in the Workspace ONE UEM Console, however it will be removed in a future version of Workspace ONE UEM.

Migration Options

If you are building apps today with the Workspace ONE SDK and are utilizing the SSID restriction APIs in the SDK, you will need to remove them from your app’s code.
