End of General Support for VMware Identity Manager Service (Windows)
VMware Identity Manager Service (Windows) will reach End of General Support (EOGS) on Nov 24, 2020. VMware Identity Manager Service (Linux) will continue to be available and supported.
VMware recommends that in preparation for the official End of General Support (EOGS) on Nov 24, 2020, customers ensure they migrate to VMware Identity Manager Service (Linux). More information can be found in the full article text.

 

User Search filter format updated as part of the LDAP query construction redesign
Previously, console administrators could set uid={EnrollmentUser} as a criteria for the user search filter in Groups & Settings > All Settings > System > Enterprise Integration > Directory Services > User. This functionality was changed in Workspace ONE UEM 1811 to use the format (&(…)) even when only a single search parameter is specified in either AD servers or other LDAP servers.

Introducing VMware Workspace ONE Boxer 5.7 for iOS
What’s New  

  • BETA BINXI-10707: Enterprise Content in Boxer
    Note: this feature is still in BETA and we are making constant improvements. Any and all feedback is welcome. Please contact us at DL.iOSBoxerBeta@vmware.com for the KVP if you would like to try out enterprise content.
    • This feature brings parts of the VMware Workspace ONE Content app into Boxer for viewing attachments, attaching to emails and saving from emails to online repositories.
    • If you have Workspace ONE Content setup, the same repositories will show up
    • If you do not have Content setup, please setup the repositories in the Console.
  • BINXI-7360: (BETA) Key Sync Escrow
    • To improve the background syncing of Workspace ONE Boxer, we are introducing the option to send down the key to unlock the Workspace ONE Boxer database to update Workspace ONE Boxer in the background.
    • To enable:
      • Key: ENSEnableKeyEscrow (int)
      • Value: 0 (default, for disabled) or 1 (to enable)
    • To set the expiration time in hours where Workspace ONE Boxer will no longer get the key use below
      • Key: ENSKeyEscrowExpiry (int)
      • Value: 48 (default)
  • BINXI-10054: Spam Reporting
    • To set the email address where Spam emails will be sent to please use the below KVP
      • Key: AppSpamForwardAddress (string)
      • Value: spam@email.com
    • To delete the email from the user’s device after forwarding please use the below KVP
      • Key: PolicyDeleteOnSpamForward (bool)
      • Value: true (default is false)

VMware Advanced Remote Management to drop support for Internet Explorer

VMware Advanced Remote Management will be discontinuing support for Microsoft Internet Explorer on July 29th, 2019. Internet Explorer 11 does not conform to certain features defined in HTML 5 specifications and, as a result, VMware cannot guarantee full functionality of Advanced Remote Management on Console Environments using Internet Explorer after the end of support date. Introducing VMware Workspace ONE Boxer 5.7 for Android
What’s New

  • To standardize the configuration of our productivity applications, In the near future Boxer will be defaulting the key AppForceActivateSSO (bool) to true. Please make sure to test that your environment still works with this key enabled before we change the default. More information on AppForceActivateSSO can be found in the Workspace ONE Boxer Admin guide
  • BINXA-9547 (Beta): Enterprise Content in Workspace ONE Boxer

  • BINXA-7972: New Sync engine
    • Our new sync engine is turned on for everyone. This change improves the performance and efficiency of syncing of data to Workspace ONE Boxer
  • BINXA-9278: Navigation drawer improvements
    • On the root level there are now combined folders for Trash, Drafts and Sent when there are multiple accounts
    • Number of drafts is shown next to the drafts folder
    • Trash and Sent folders now show the number of unread messages
    • The folder you are on is now highlighted

Deprecation of some public crypto APIs in Workspace ONE SDK 19.4 for Android
Starting in Android 9 (Android P) Google has implemented a new Java UTF decoder. This decoder is more strict in enforcing Unicode standards. At this time, there are no APIs to support backwards compatibility of this decoder. Introducing VMware Workspace ONE SDK 19.4 for Android

What’s New

  • ASDK-169224: DeviceID generation is now based on Android.SecureID 
    (Q Compatibility/Security change).
  • ASDK-170292: Removed Sign-In button from SDK login flow.
  • ASDK-170533: Optimized SDK Securepreferences access.
  • ASDK-170584: Migrated and deprecated APIs to accommodate an Android-P UTF encoder compatibility break.

Bugs Fixed

  • ASDK-169697: Fixed an issue where using single sign-on in an Android Enterprise integration caused Boxer to fail.
  • ASDK-170587: Fixed an issue that occurred when using the fingerprint function to unlock VMware applications on Samsung Galaxy S10 devices.

 

Known Issues

AAGNT-184382: "Set as active network" not enabled after being pushed to Samsung devices
A Wi-Fi profile created by providing SSID name (Enter Wi-Fi SSID other than one device is already connected), password, security type and also enabling "Set as active network" option will not connect to a new Wi-Fi AP even though "set as active network" option is enabled once pushed to the device.  

 

Dedicated SaaS UAT Environments are not displayed in the My Company page within My Workspace ONE portal
