Reminder: Upcoming End of General Support for Email Notification Service (ENS) v1 (Legacy) Installer


VMware Email Notification Service (ENS) v1 (Legacy) will be removed from the My Workspace ONE portal on July 1, 2019 and will reach End of General Support on October 1, 2019. After October 1, 2019, VMware cannot guarantee full support for ENS. We first announced the end of support for ENS in a separate product announcement article in the fall of 2018.

ENS2 has several improvements over legacy ENS. ENS2 offers a cloud option for zero-touch deployment and an On-Premises deployment option. ENS2 also offers benefits which include robust security model that does not require service accounts, high-availability support, and the ability to configure notification content policies. In addition, ENS2 offers direct benefits to end users such, as platform support for Android and iOS for Workspace ONE Boxer notifications, VIP notifications, unread email count badge on iOS, and end-user controls to disable notifications or select calendar-only notifications from Workspace ONE Boxer.

Customer Impact

All customers currently utilizing ENS should migrate to ENS2 before the End of General Support date.
