Symptoms

VMware Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 9.0 introduced additional logging (capture RX Logs) on Zebra devices to track failures when products are pushed to devices. The additional logging can result in large files (approximately 250MB) stored locally on the device. The files are only generated on Zebra devices that experience failures when pushing products.

 

Customer Impact

This issue only impacts Zebra devices using Product Provisioning on Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub version 9.0 and above.

Devices with more failures will capture these logs multiple times, causing the Intelligent Hub app to consume more device memory. Over-utilization of device memory may impact other applications on the device as well as the OS.

 

Workaround

It is possible to remove these log files from devices using existing versions of Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub. Create a Files & Action product to delete the logs files on every product failure. These log files are kept at /sdcard/Android/data/com.airwatch.androidagent/files/log

VMware is working to release a new version of Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub that addresses this issue, it will auto purge all unnecessary log files and only capture a single (main0.txt) file. The Main0.txt file has size range of 512 KB to 1 MB. These captured log files will be purged, automatically, once they are three days or older.
