Upcoming behavior changes for Android SDK Apps using the Offline Access Policy in Custom SDK profiles

Overview

Future versions of the SDK (above 18.6) will no longer restrict offline access when the SDK application is assigned with a Custom SDK profile and the Offline Access Payload is not configured. End-users in this situation will be allowed to use the SDK app when the device is not connected to the network unless the administrators enables the Offline Access Policy and leaves the “Enable Offline Access” checkbox unchecked.

Customer Impact

For customers using applications with SDK versions 18.6 and below assigned with a custom SDK profile and the Offline Access Payload is NOT configured, offline access is restricted. The end-user is blocked form using the SDK app when the device is not connected to the network.

Future versions of the SDK (above 18.6) will require the administrator to enable the Offline Access Policy and leave the “Enable Offline Access” checkbox unchecked in order to restrict offline access.
