Changes to roles in Workspace ONE UEM 9.4

Overview

Upon upgrading to Workspace ONE UEM Console 9.4, customer administrators with either the System Administrator or AirWatch Administrator role may notice the role change to Console Administrator.

This change is a result of the System Administrator role now being limited to environment managers (ex: AirWatch SaaS Operations teams for all SaaS environments hosted by VMware AirWatch). The AirWatch Administrator will be limited to VMware employees who have access to environments for troubleshooting, installation, or configuration purposes. This change is in line with SaaS best practices which aim to reduce the risk of customer administrators mistakenly introducing configuration related issues by removing access to a subset of functions which can adversely impact performance if misconfigured.
