When a user does not know their username and/or passcode, a new app token must be generated in order to grant access. Beginning with AirWatch Console 9.0, the Clear Passcode Single-Sign On (SSO) device action has been replaced by the Generate App Token device action. This new workflow better addresses supported use cases for forgotten passcodes.
How to Generate App Token Workflow
A new app token can be generated using any of the following three methods:
- AirWatch Administrators can generate tokens through the AirWatch Console.
Note: Once the AirWatch Console receives a request for a new app token, a new token is sent via email to the user.
- End-users can generate their own tokens via the Self-Service Portal (if the AirWatch environment uses the SSP).
- End-Users who know their username and password can reset their passcode using the "Forgot Passcode" option in the AirWatch Agent.
