In the upcoming Android 8.0 (Oreo) release for the Samsung S8 and S8+ devices, an issue has been discovered with the current AirWatch Agent 8.0.1 that impacts Android for Work – Work Profile managed devices. The previous logic used to determine integrity of the work profile is no longer applicable on Samsung Android 8.0 (Oreo) devices. When the check fails, AirWatch does not believe the device to be enrolled, as it cannot validate the work profile.
AirWatch product and release management teams are working closely with Samsung to provide a fix for customers. The issue is isolated to the below devices.

Implications for Customers
Android for Work - Work profile enrollment will fail on Android 8.0 (Oreo) Samsung S8, and Samsung S8+ with AirWatch Agent 8.0.1. Users are encouraged to delay upgrading to Android 8.0 (Oreo) until VMware AirWatch releases a compatible Agent version.
Post upgrade issues can occur in which the device will no longer be managed or receive commands. This leads to the user being forced to delete the work profile, losing all work application data. The following information is a list of scenarios, impacts, and recommended actions for each use case if an upgrade is performed prior to installing a compatible version of the AirWatch Agent:
Currently enrolled device with AirWatch Agent 8.0.1 is upgraded to Android O
AirWatch dissuades users from opening the AirWatch Agent on the device, both inside and outside the work profile.
Device is upgraded to Android 8.0 (Oreo) and the Agent existing outside the work profile is opened
If this occurs, the user will see an "Enable" button and must not click this button. If the "Enable" button is clicked, the device will be unenrolled. The user must then manually delete the work profile and re-enroll the device. All work application data will be lost.
Device is upgraded to Android 8.0 (Oreo) and the Agent existing inside the work profile is opened
If this occurs the user will see the "Welcome to AirWatch!" screen and the device will immediately lose communication with AirWatch. The user must then manually delete the work profile and re-enroll the device. All work application data will be lost.
