VMware IDM: Failed to associate to exisiting VMware Identity Manager directory for this domain

Error/Symptom

This error is observed within the Admin Console of AirWatch when we try to add a Directory during the Directory Sync to VMware Identity Manager process. It is observed in both Saas and On Premise instances of AirWatch.

The exact error is displayed in the image below.

Cause

This is caused because the directory name does not match with the Directory added in the Directory Services section.

 

Resolution

Change the directory name to match the one in the Directory Services within Enterprise Integration in the Admin Console of AirWatch. This should fix the issue.
