Important updates to Content Gateway health monitoring in AirWatch 8.4

Starting in AirWatch 8.4 there has been a change in the expected response of the Content Gateway health monitoring page. In earlier AirWatch versions, when making an HTTP GET request to https://{Content-Gateway Host}/content, the expected response from the server is a HTTP 200 OK (in a web browser this would also load as a blank white page). Also in previous versions, if browsing to https://{Content-Gateway Host}/content/systeminfo, the expected response is a 200 OK along with Content Gateway system info.

As of AirWatch 8.4 the expected response of making a HTTP request directly to the /content or /content/systeminfo is a HTTP 403 Forbidden.

If using a load balancer or other component that is configured to monitor the health of the Content Gateway server, then the health monitoring rules should be updated to reflect the changes mentioned above. This change will only affect Content Gateway versions 8.4 and greater. Content Gateway versions less than 8.4 will still return a HTTP 200 response.
