AAPP-532: App Catalog does not appear on the dock if the profile is installed at time of user login for macOS devices - Resolved in macOS 10.12

Symptoms

The App Catalog WebClip does not appear on the Dock if the profile is installed at the time of user login. The profile will install but then error when trying to place the WebClip on the Dock. The profile will be present as installed in the System Preferences Profiles page even though the WebClip does not appear on the Dock.

Workaround

The following options can be used as workarounds:

  1. After devices are enrolled and logged into the managed user, navigate to Apps > Catalog > General > Publishing. Select Enable OS X and then Save. This will queue App Catalog for all enrolled devices.
  2. Create a custom xml App Catalog webclip and allow the user to push from SSP. 
  3. Create a custom xml App Catalog webclip and publish manually after devices are enrolled and logged into managed user. 

Resolution

This issue has been given identifier AAPP-532.  This issue has been resolved in macOS 10.12.
