Global Environment Manager (GEM) and AirWatch Analytics Overview

Global Environment Manager (GEM)

The Global Environment Manager (GEM) is an application that provides AirWatch with basic information about your environment, including:

  • Environment History
  • Product Provisioning
  • License Reporting
  • Analytic Data Collection
  • Environment Configuration

The information gathered by GEM enables AirWatch to:

  • Provide more efficient and targeted support.
  • Post Known Issues specific to current AirWatch versions in use by customers to the myAirWatch Knowledge Base.
  • Publish environment analytics in myAirWatch, allowing for a quick overview of the state of a customer’s environment.
  • Provide device analytics and app analytics over all AirWatch users, which can be broken down by Industry, Region, or Market.

AirWatch Analytics

What is AirWatch Analytics?

AirWatch Analytics allows customers to monitor device and application deployments to better understand their mobile device fleet. It allows customers to compare their deployment across industries, regions and markets to get a sense of where their organization stands.

Data View

  • Device Deployment – Displays the counts of enrolled devices in a user’s environment over a selected time frame.
  • Device Platforms – Breaks down the device count by device platform (iOS, Android, etc.). The user can choose their desired.
  • Device Ownership – Provides the detail of corporate, individual, and shared device ownership, allowing users to view demographics on the operating system of devices, trends in enrollment, and the overall picture of how many devices fall into each ownership bucket.

Device State

The device state option allows users to choose between active and total devices. The key difference between these two options is that active devices have checked in within the last 30 days, while total devices are all the devices logged by the AirWatch environment.
