Stagefright Android vulnerability

On July 27th, security researchers published information about a vulnerability in an Android library called Stagefright. This vulnerability could allow an attacker to compromise an Android device in a variety of methods, including text messaging. Since the affected library is within the Android operating system, a resolution is in progress from Google.  Google has issued updates to patch the issue to telecom carriers, who will be making the update available to affected devices.  AirWatch suggests that customers follow updates from Google and the appropriate Android handset manufactures.

AirWatch is continuing to investigate whether there are any methods of detection or prevention in advance of the Android patches.”
